Franz Resseguie
Head Coach
Franz Resseguie is a seasoned swim coach with a wealth of experience and expertise. His coaching journey has been marked by dedication and success as he has worked tirelessly to nurture and develop swimmers of all levels. Known for his exceptional coaching and ability to inspire athletes to new levels, Franz has left a mark on our swimming community locally and nationally. With a strong coaching background and passion for the sport, he continues to make a positive impact on Tualatin Hills swimmer's growth and achievements.

- USA Swimming "National Team Coach" list 2023, 2022
- USA Swimming National Team Coach 2006-2008. This honor recognizes Franz’s contribution to the National Team’s primary objective of achieving competitive success at the Olympic Games.
- 2006, 2007 & 2008 recipient of the "Coach of Excellence Award," the American Swim Coaches Association Award that recognizes achievement on the National Level.
Jonathan Hiett

We’re thrilled to welcome back Jon Hiett to the THSC coaching team! Jon has been coaching since 2010, bringing experience from top-club programs like King Aquatic Club and his prior work with THSC. As a former NCAA-Division I All-American (Auburn and Michigan), Olympic Trials qualifier, and Youth Swimmer, Jon knows what it takes to grow champions.
Jon believes in building a culture of commitment, teamwork, and excellence. He emphasizes smart, challenging training, technical mastery, and helping every swimmer believe in their potential. We’re excited to see what he helps our swimmers achieve this season!
Tualatin Hills Swim Club is proud to welcome back Jon Hiett to our coaching staff. With more than a decade of coaching experience, Jon returns to THSC after impactful tenures at the AC Club, bringing with him both passion for the sport and deep expertise in developing swimmers at every level.
Jon began swimming competitively at age 4, growing up just minutes from a world-class aquatic facility. He later swam collegiately for Auburn University (2007 National Champions) and the University of Michigan, where he was an NCAA Division I All-American and part of Big 10 championship teams. He also qualified for the 2008 Olympic Trials, experiences that have shaped his high standards and aspirations.
After earning his Bachelor of Science in Movement Science, Jon transitioned into coaching full-time. He has coached young athletes through to Olympic Trials qualifiers and national age-group record holders. His past coaching roles include King Aquatic Club and his earlier work at this very club. He has been recognized as a nominee for ASCA Age Group Coach of the Year and was selected to attend the National Select Camp as a coach.
Jon’s philosophy centers on team unity + individual growth. He believes every swimmer’s journey is unique, but that the collective strength of a team, support, accountability, and shared goals can elevate everyone. His coaching places intentional focus on technical excellence, purposeful training, and developing self-belief. A favorite quote: “Whether you believe you can or cannot, you are right.”
For our THSC families and swimmers, Jon serves not just as a coach, but as a mentor and partner: educating, pushing boundaries, and helping every athlete succeed, whether in their first swim meet or competing at higher levels. He aims to build a culture of commitment, excellence, and greatness, where success is growth in all its forms.
Jody Braden
Assistant Senior Coach

Jody Braden brings more than 30 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for swimming to Tualatin Hills Swim Club. From 2004 to 2020, he served as Head Coach of Portland Aquatic Club, where he guided athletes to success while also shaping the team’s vision and growth through both coaching and administrative leadership. Prior to that, he made a significant impact at the Bellevue Club Swim Team, further demonstrating his versatility and dedication to athlete development.
As an athlete, Jody’s own career was distinguished at the highest levels. He was an NCAA All-American, Pac-10 Champion, Olympic Trials qualifier, and Pan American Games Silver Medalist. These achievements fuel his ability to connect with swimmers and inspire them to reach their full potential.
Jody has also contributed extensively to the broader swimming community through leadership roles in Oregon Swimming, consistently working to advance the sport and its athletes. His depth of knowledge, proven leadership, and commitment to excellence make him a tremendous asset to THSC and its mission of developing swimmers of character and performance.
Kevin Ferreira
Head Age Group Coach
Kevin Ferreira steps into the role of Tualatin Hills Swim Club's Head Age Group Coach with a distinguished coaching career marked by many achievements. The recent selection of Kevin to represent our club at the exclusive 2022 National Age Group Summit is a testament to his coaching prowess, and Kevin's adeptness in nurturing well-rounded athletes. As a versatile coach with nearly three decades of experience, Kevin's journey began as an Assistant Coach at the Cabrillo Threshers Swim Team, later expanding to impactful roles at Soquel High School, Santa Cruz High School, and Aptos High School. His dedication and leadership position him to guide our age group program to success at Tualatin Hills Swim Club.
Sheila McCarroll
Assistant Coach
Sheila McCarroll is a dedicated and accomplished figure within the Oregon swimming community, known for her diverse background and unwavering commitment to coaching. Sheila graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Nursing and embarked on a distinguished career that took her to prestigious institutions like Mass Gen Hospital in Boston and Emanuel Hospital in Portland, where she excelled in Labor and Delivery. Sheila's journey with Tualatin Hills Swim Club (THSC) started when her own children embarked on their swimming journeys in 1999. Over the years, her involvement deepened as she took on pivotal roles within the club. Serving as Meet Director for many years, and as the Board President for six years, Sheila contributed significantly to the club's growth and direction. Transitioning from administrative roles to coaching, Sheila's passion for nurturing young swimmers became evident. Her coaching journey began at CYO at Valley Catholic School, where for 12 years she shaped swimmers' growth and development. Sheila switched over to coaching with THSC in 2013 and her enthusiasm for coaching our younger swimmers shines through, underscoring her dedication to nurturing their early swimming experiences. We would not be the team we are today without Sheila.
Stacia Shelton
Assistant Coach
Stacia Shelton is a highly accomplished and passionate swim coach known for her outstanding achievements and dynamic coaching style. In 2017 Stacia was recognized as the 2016-2017 Oregon Swimming Age Group Coach of the Year by her coaching peers. Stacia's coaching prowess is evident through her diverse experiences. She is highly sought after for her skills in teaching younger athletes. Stacia's impact extends through various roles, on different teams around Oregon and as an Assistant Coach at PASA (Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics). Her swimmers have rewritten the records board on their teams and broken a few Oregon Swimming records. Stacia's coaching philosophy emphasizes athlete well-being, positive team dynamics, and holistic growth. Her ability to foster goal-setting, plan engaging activities, and create a fun and focused training environment defines her impactful coaching approach. We are very lucky to have Stacia on our staff.
Sarah Ferreira
Assistant Coach
Coach Sarah brings both deep roots and fresh energy to Tualatin Hills Swim Club. A Thunderbolt alum, she swam with THSC for 10 years before going on to compete at the collegiate level, achieving Senior National qualifying times along the way. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Communication at Portland State University, Sarah transitioned her passion for the sport into teaching and coaching, where she quickly found her calling in developing young swimmers. Now serving as our Developmental Coach and Olympic Way Director, Sarah is at the heart of building the foundation for the next generation of Thunderbolts. She combines her enthusiasm for working with children with her technical knowledge of swimming, creating an environment where athletes not only learn skills but also discover a true love for the water. We are grateful to have Sarah leading our youngest squads. Her care, energy, and belief in every swimmer embody the values that make THSC strong. Under her guidance, the beginning of each athlete’s journey is filled with joy, learning, and inspiration.
Addison Schroeder
Assistant Coach
Addison Schroeder is a recent Biology graduate from Southwest Minnesota State University, where she dedicated four years to competing on the NCAA DII women's swimming and diving team. With a remarkable 15-year journey as a competitive swimmer, Addison's passion for the sport now drives her aspiration to inspire others through coaching. Addison has been an assistant coach for her club team and was a head coach for a large summer league program. In this capacity, she adeptly managed assistant coaches, orchestrated practice schedules, and meticulously organized meet arrangements. Addison's experience and motivation render her an exceptional candidate for coaching with THSC.
Jewel Springer
Assistant Coach
Jewel Springer is a dynamic athlete and leader with a passion for serving her community and excelling in competitive environments. As a former member of the Washington State Women’s Swim and Diving team, she brings over five years of experience competing at the Pac 12 and D1 level. Jewel’s background as a team captain has honed her skills in leadership, decision-making, and teamwork. In addition to her athletic achievements, Jewel holds a degree in Political Science Pre-Law with a minor in Criminal Justice. Her diverse background includes experience as a swim coach, instructor, lifeguard, and social media and marketing specialist. Jewel has also been actively involved in student organizations such as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where she serves as Vice President, and has contributed to environmental initiatives within the Pac 12 conference. Throughout her career, Jewel has demonstrated a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to making a positive impact both on and off the field. With a track record of success in athletics, academics, and community involvement, Jewel is well-equipped to inspire and guide individuals towards reaching their full potential.
Stephanie Elwonger
Assistant Coach
Stephanie Elwonger is a former Division I swimmer at Arizona State University and Wyoming State Champion with over 20 years of coaching and teaching experience, from age-group swimmers to college athletes. She has coached with programs including the Arizona Marlins, Spokane Area Swimming, the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and Nike Masters. Stephanie is passionate about helping swimmers of all levels develop skills, confidence, and a love for the sport.
Casey McEuen
Assistant Coach
Coach Casey McEuen brings a wealth of experience to the Tualatin Hills Swim Club, both as a decorated athlete and a dedicated coach.
Casey swam collegiately at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he was the Men’s Swim & Dive Team Captain during the 2021–2022 season. He also represented his teammates as the SAAC Team Representative in 2020–2021 and helped lead UNLV to back-to-back WAC Conference Championships.
A standout in high school, Casey competed for Lebanon High School in Oregon, where he earned four-time High School All-American honors and served as team captain in 2017–2018. He is a two-time recipient of the Oregon Prep Male Swimmer of the Year Award (2017, 2018), presented at Nike World Headquarters. Over his prep career, Casey captured seven state titles (five individual, two relay) and set multiple OSAA 5A State Records, including the boys’ 50- and 100-yard freestyles, records he still holds today.
In club swimming, Casey developed with Lebanon Community Swim Club before moving to Corvallis Aquatic Club. He became a three-time OSI State Champion in the 50 Freestyle and went on to compete at national-level meets including Senior Sectionals, Futures, Junior Nationals (West, Summer, and Winter), TYR Pro Series, and Winter Nationals. He was also selected to the 2015 USA Swimming National Diversity Select Camp at the Olympic Training Center.
Casey’s coaching journey began early, volunteering for four seasons with the Linn County Special Olympics Swim Team. He later served as a Student Assistant Coach at UNLV, an Assistant Coach with Corvallis Aquatic Club, and most recently as Head Coach of Golds Aquatic Team. He also represented Pacific Northwest Swimming as a Western Zones Championship Coach in 2025. Across these roles, Casey has guided athletes to success at championship levels, emphasizing growth, teamwork, and a love for the sport.
